Since 1997, Ruby’s Fast Food has been a family owned business in Chicago that celebrates traditional home-style Filipino food. Located in the Albany Park neighborhood, the restaurant has satisfied cravings of many local customers with its fresh, flavorful, and authentic comfort food of the Philippines.
Milestones
- Ruby's captured the taste buds of celebrity chef, Andrew Zimmern, and was highlighted in national and local tv shows in 2011. Zimmern crowned one of the specialty menu items, the deep fried pork shank- Crispy Pata, one of his “Top 5 in Chicago” menu items.
- Every bite into the pork's delicate and crispy skin was meticulously critiqued on the Travel Channel's show, "The Best Thing I Ever Ate," and continued to indulge in the balance of flavors that enhanced each crunch through its tender and moist textures.
- In 2012, the famous juicy pork leg made its reappearance as one of the “Best Pork” dishes on local tv show, Chicago’s Best.
- Other pork variations favored by Zimmern is the dish, Dinuguan, a unique and deliciously marinated stew of beef and pork that was highlighted in Travel Channel's "Bizarre Foods" clip.
- Ruby’s Fast Food grew international attention when it was featured on TFC’s (The Filipino Channel) show, "Adobo Nation," in 2013. The show’s celebrity chef, Ron Bilaro, feasted on several tasty cuisines like Filipino Spaghetti, Pancit Palabok, Coconut Chicken with Laing, Crispy Pata, and Kalderetang Baka.
